How To Configure A Controller
Once you have added your controllers they can be configured as you want.
In the bottom right of the application click the settings icon.
This will open the Settings pane. To access the controls setting page click the controller’s icon
To change the settings, click the controller you want to edit and click the settings icon.
In this example we select the Virtual Scroll Controller (VSC)
The controller Settings will open in the CONTROLS tab.
Under the icons you will see the controller name. In this case Virtual Scroll Controller
You can overtype this name with a friendly name. In this example we change it to On Screen Controller.
Mouse Wheel Gain: Use the slider to set how much the speed of scroll changes by each click of the mouse wheel. You can also type an entry in between 1.00 and 5.00.
Reverse Mouse Wheel: To change the direction of the scroll uncheck the box.
You can use the mouse and the keys shown to control scroll speed, direction, and to navigate through stories.
In the Profile tab you can select the setting for:
Sensitivity: how far you need to scroll before you get to the maximum speed.
Deadband: how far you must scroll from the stop point until the text starts moving.
Note: if you are having trouble hitting the stop point, increase the Deadband to a number.
Max speed: the fastest scroll speed you want to be able to go
Physical Controllers: USB
Autocue Pioneer and Explorer supports the following USB controllers:
CON-SE (USB ShuttleXPress)
CON-2B/USB (USB 2 Button Hand Control)
CON-MB/USB (USB Multi-Button Hand Control)
CON-FC/USB/001 (USB Foot Control with 2 Programmable Buttons)
CON-FC/WIRELESS (Wireless Foot Control with 2 Programmable Buttons)
Note: With Autocue Pioneer multiple controllers can be added.
With Autocue Explorer only one controller can be added.
Once added the devices will be listed in the controllers pane.
To change the settings, click the controller you want to edit and click the settings icon.
In this example we select the UsbShuttleXPress.
The controller Settings will be open in the Controls tab.
Under the icons you will see the controller name. In this case ShuttleXPress.
You can overtype this name with a friendly name. In this example we change it to Desktop Controller.
You can see the preset functions for each of the 5 buttons on the ShuttleXPress controller.
To change the functions click on the button and a pull down will appear.
Click on the function you would like the button to have.
In the PROFILE tab you can select the setting for:
Sensitivity: how far you need to scroll before you get to the maximum speed.
Max Speed: the fastest scroll speed you want to be able to go.
The ShuttleXPress has two wheels.
The inner dial controls the scroll speed. Twist clockwise to move the script forward. The more you twist is, the faster it goes. Twist anti-clockwise to reverse the scroll. The speed and direction will stay where you set it.
The outer wheel is like a pause button. It will snap back to the centre and pause the script when you let go.
Other Autocue USB controllers can be configured using the same process as outlined for the ShuttleXPress.
Physical Controllers: Bluetooth
Autocue Pioneer and Explorer supports the following Bluetooth controllers:
Logitech R400
Logitech R500
Logitech Spotlight
Please Note: the R500 and Spotlight have additional features that can be configured in the Logi Options+ Software.

In this example we select the Logitech R500 / Spotlight.

Under the icons you will see the controller name. In this case Logitech R500 / Spotlight.
You can overtype this name with a friendly name. In this example we change it to Wireless Controller.
You can see the preset functions for each of the 2 buttons on the R50:
Right Arrow / Forward button (named Next in the Autocue software)
Left Arrow / back button ( named Prev in the Autocue software)
Please note: we do not use the pointer button.
Each button can have two functions assigned using either a Single Click or a Double Click.
To change the functions click on the button and a pull down will appear.
Click on the function you would like the button to have.
In addition, a third function can be added using a Long Press of the button.
For this function to be activated you need to configure the controller in the Logi options+ application.
In the actions settings you must select Fast Forward and Fast Back as shown in the images below:
In the Autocue application you can now select which long press function you would like to assign to the Next and Prev button.
Please Note: the long press function selected in the Autocue application does not have to be Increase or Decrease Scroll Speed.
Using the slider you can also select the speed you would like the scroll to begin at.
In the PROFILE tab you can select the setting for maximum speed.
